Night time shots & First Dance
As a wedding photographer
I believe in seizing every opportunity to create stunning and memorable moments, and the first dance is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting parts of a wedding celebration. As the band is setting up, it's the perfect moment to step outside and embrace the magic of nighttime shots, even if it happens to be raining. Believe it or not, rain can add an ethereal touch, creating incredible backlit shots that are a personal favorite of mine.
This optional outdoor session sets the stage for unique and atmospheric images, capturing the romance of the moment against the backdrop of a starlit sky or rain-kissed surroundings. The result is often a collection of photographs that tell a story beyond the traditional wedding scenes.
Once the outdoor escapade concludes, the focus shifts to the heart of the celebration—the first dance. As your wedding photographer, my approach is to blend seamlessly into the crowd, becoming a silent observer of the love and joy that unfolds on the dance floor. From tender moments to wild dance moves, every nuance is documented with precision and care.
I typically stay for about three songs, but if the energy on the dance floor is infectious and the crowd is wild, I'm more than happy to extend my stay to capture the enthusiasm and vibrant atmosphere. On the flip side, if the dance floor seems a bit timid, fear not! I'll collaborate with the band to encourage a lively atmosphere, coaxing a few guests onto the floor to kickstart the celebration.
There have been instances where the dance floor starts empty, but with a little encouragement and the right musical vibe, it transforms into a lively, unforgettable space. So, here's a tip for couples: remind your friends and family to dance like no one is watching. After all, it's these candid, carefree moments that make for the most cherished memories.
In the end, my goal is to capture the essence of your celebration—the love, the joy, and the uninhibited moments that make your wedding day truly yours. So, let's dance into the night and create memories that will last a lifetime.
